Looking for Halloween Events in Michigan? Come Spend Halloween Morning in Cass City

There’s something fun brewing in Cass City this Halloween—and it has a lot more to do with bicycles, dogs, neighbors and coffee than anything spooky.

On Saturday, October 31, 2026, at 9:00 AM, we’re inviting residents and visitors to join us for the 2026 Cass City Witches Ride & Witches Walk, a lighthearted Halloween morning designed to bring people together and give us another reason to enjoy our little corner of Michigan.

We’ll gather at Ben’s Food in Cass City, one of our event sponsors and the starting point for the morning’s ride and walk.

Decorate your bicycle. Put on a witch hat. Bring a friend. Grab the leash and bring your favorite four-legged companion. Or simply come out and watch the fun.

And we want to make one thing very clear from the beginning:

The Cass City Witches Ride & Witches Walk is completely FREE to participate in. No purchase is necessary to ride or walk with us.

For those who would like to help us create more community events in the future, we’re also offering an optional $25 Witches Ride Supporter Package.

The Supporter Package includes a 2026 Cass City Witches Ride & Witches Walk souvenir, our 11:00 AM non-alcoholic Witches Brew Social, and most importantly, $10 from every Supporter Package will be specifically set aside for future Cass City-area events.

Come for free. Participate for free. And if you’d like to help us create the next event, we’d certainly appreciate the support.

A Free, Family-Friendly Halloween Event in Michigan

The idea behind the Cass City Witches Ride & Witches Walk is pretty simple:

Let’s get outside and have some fun together.

The Witches Ride is for anyone who would like to decorate a bicycle, dress for Halloween and enjoy a morning ride through Cass City.

You don’t need an expensive bicycle. You don’t need an elaborate costume. And this certainly isn’t a race.

Decorate as much or as little as you’d like.

Add a broom, basket, ribbons, lights, cobwebs or spiders. Wear a full costume or just throw on a witch hat.

The goal is simply to have fun.

And if bicycles aren’t your thing, join the Witches Walk instead.

Walkers are welcome with or without a dog, and we’d especially love to see some of our local and visiting dog lovers join us with their four-legged companions.

Dogs should be leashed, comfortable around people and other dogs, and under their owner’s control throughout the event.

Costumes for dogs are completely optional.

Your dog is already adorable enough.

The ride and walk will be organized with safety in mind so cyclists, pedestrians and dogs can all enjoy the morning.

Dog Lovers Looking for Halloween Events in Michigan—This One Is for You

One of the things we love most about adding the Witches Walk is that you don’t have to own or ride a bicycle to participate.

And, of course, it gives us an excuse to invite the dogs.

Coordinate your costumes. Dress your dog as your little witch’s familiar. Bring your pumpkin, ghost or four-legged goblin.

Or forget the costume altogether and simply enjoy the walk.

Please always put your dog’s comfort first. If your dog doesn’t enjoy crowds, unfamiliar people or other animals, this might not be the best adventure for them.

But for the social butterflies of the dog world, we think this could be a pretty fun Halloween morning.

We also hope the Witches Walk makes attending a community event a little easier for someone who might otherwise hesitate to come alone.

Bring the dog.

You already have a walking buddy—and dogs have a funny way of making introductions easier.

Meet Us at Ben’s Super Cent at 9:00 AM

The Cass City Witches Ride & Witches Walk begins at 9:00 AM on Saturday, October 31, 2026, with everyone gathering at Ben’s Food in Cass City.

We’re grateful to have Ben’s Food as one of our local sponsors and as the starting location for the Witches Ride & Witches Walk.

There’s something we especially love about beginning a community event at a local Cass City business. These are exactly the kinds of connections we hope events like this create—local businesses, residents and visitors all becoming part of the same experience.

We intentionally chose a morning time so people can enjoy the event without interfering with traditional Halloween evening activities.

Come out for the morning, enjoy the ride or walk and still have the rest of Halloween Saturday for family plans, trick-or-treating and your own Halloween traditions.

We’re not trying to replace anyone’s traditions.

We’re simply adding one more fun thing to do.

And if you don’t want to ride or walk?

Come watch.

Wave to the witches. Take some pictures. See the decorated bicycles and dogs.

There are lots of ways to enjoy a community event.

Yes, the Witches Ride AND Witches Dog Walk Are FREE

We want to make this especially clear:

There is NO fee to participate in either the Cass City Witches Ride or Witches Walk.

You don’t have to purchase anything.

You don’t have to enter a contest.

You don’t have to attend the social afterward.

If you want to decorate your bicycle and ride, come ride.

If you want to bring your dog and walk, come walk.

If you want to participate without a dog, come walk with us anyway.

Participation is free.

The optional $25 Witches Ride Supporter Package is simply available for people who would like to support what we’re trying to build while receiving a little something extra from the day.

Want to Help Create More Events? The Optional $25 Supporter Package

We’d love for the Cass City Witches Ride & Witches Walk to be more than one fun morning.

We’d like it to help create the next event, too.

That’s why we’re offering an optional $25 Witches Ride Supporter Package.

Your Supporter Package includes a 2026 Cass City Witches Ride & Witches Walk souvenir and the 11:00 AM Witches Brew Social at the Northwood Lakes Condo Pavilion.

Most importantly:

$10 from every $25 Supporter Package will be specifically set aside for future events in the Cass City area.

Purchasing a Supporter Package is completely optional and is not required to participate in the ride or walk.

Think of it as a way to say:

“I had fun today, and I’d like to help make the next idea happen.”

If 25 people purchase Supporter Packages, that creates $250 for future Cass City-area events.

If 50 people participate, that becomes $500 toward something new.

Little things can grow.

Local businesses supporting community events and tourism in Michigan’s Thumb

What Exactly Is the 11:00 AM Witches Brew Social?

After the morning ride and walk, Supporter Package holders will have somewhere comfortable to gather.

Northwood Lakes Condo is generously allowing us to use its pavilion for our 11:00 AM Witches Brew Social.

We’re very thankful for their willingness to provide a gathering space for the event. Community activities become possible when local businesses, organizations and neighbors are willing to contribute what they can—and sometimes something as simple as providing a place for people to gather makes all the difference.

And just so there’s no confusion about the name:

Our Witches Brew Social is completely non-alcoholic.

We thought Witches Brew Social sounded considerably more fun than “Coffee at the Pavilion.”

We’ll have hot coffee and tea, along with signature flavored syrups, so you can mix your own fun Witches Brew.

Make something sweet.

Make something spicy.

Make something pumpkin-y.

Create your own concoction and give it a ridiculous Halloween name.

We’ll also have a few light snacks and refreshments available.

But the best part isn’t really the coffee.

It’s having somewhere to sit down afterward.

Meet somebody you saw during the walk. Compare costumes. Talk about the bicycles. Meet another dog lover. Take some pictures. Laugh about whose witch hat survived the morning.

Sometimes community happens during the event.

Sometimes it happens afterward over a cup of coffee.

We want room for both.

Prizes, Decorated Bikes and a Little Friendly Halloween Fun

We know some of you are going to take decorating very seriously.

And we’re here for it.

While nobody has to participate in any contest, we’ll have some fun recognition for a few of our creative participants.

It’s simply a little extra Halloween fun—and another way for area businesses and organizations to become part of the day.

Why We're Creating More Events in Michigan's Thumb

There’s actually a much bigger idea behind a bunch of adults wearing witch hats, decorating bicycles and walking dogs through Cass City.

We want to give people reasons to go places.

Small-town tourism doesn’t always require a giant attraction.

Sometimes people travel for a festival.

Sometimes it’s live music.

Sometimes it’s a great little restaurant, an interesting shop, a beautiful park, a class or a community event they can’t experience at home.

And sometimes they see something online about witches riding decorated bicycles through a small Michigan town on Halloween morning and think:

“That sounds fun. Let’s go.”

That’s enough.

Cass City doesn’t need to become a big city.

Being a small town is part of what makes experiences like this special.

You can come to an event and actually talk to people.

You can walk into a local business and meet the person who owns it.

You can drive through Michigan’s Thumb, discover somewhere you’ve never explored and wonder how you didn’t know it was here.

We want to celebrate that.

If You're Making the Trip, Stay Awhile

If you discover us while searching for Halloween events in Michigan and decide to make the drive to Cass City, we hope you’ll explore while you’re here.

Don't feel like you have to come for the Witches Ride and immediately head home.

Grab breakfast or lunch.

Visit a local business.

Take the scenic way home.

Explore another Thumb community.

Find somewhere you've never been before.

Part of the reason we're working with local businesses on events like this is because an event can introduce visitors to much more than the event itself.

Someone might come to Cass City because they want to participate in the Witches Walk with their dog.

While they're here, they discover a restaurant.

Then a shop.

Then somewhere else they'd like to visit.

And suddenly one little community event has created an entirely different experience.

That's what Worth the Trip is all about.

Sometimes We Just Need a Reason to Leave the House

There’s another reason we’re excited about this event.

It’s incredibly easy to get comfortable staying home.

Work. Home. Dinner. Television. Bed.

Repeat.

Sometimes we don’t need another obligation on our calendar.

We need a reason to get out of the house and connect with other people.

Maybe you’re new to the area.

Maybe you work from home.

Maybe you don’t know many people locally yet.

Maybe walking into a traditional social event where you don’t know anyone feels intimidating.

That's another reason we love activities like this.

You don't have to walk into a room and introduce yourself.

Show up with your bicycle.

Bring your dog.

Compliment someone’s costume.

Ask how they decorated their bike.

Laugh about something ridiculous one of the dogs is wearing.

Suddenly, you have something to talk about.

You don’t have to know everybody in town.

You don’t have to belong to a particular organization.

You don't have to be the most outgoing person in the group.

Just come as you are.

Local Businesses Helping Create Local Experiences

One of our favorite parts of putting this event together has been seeing local businesses and community spaces become part of it.

We’re grateful to:

Ben’s Food in Cass City for sponsoring the event and welcoming us as the starting location for the Witches Ride & Witches Walk.

Clean Camera and Cardinal Camera for donating prizes for our participants.

And Northwood Lakes Condo for generously allowing us to use the pavilion for our 11:00 AM Witches Brew Social.

We’re also currently welcoming additional local businesses that would like to participate.

For us, local sponsorship isn’t about covering an event in advertising.

It’s about collaboration.

A business might donate a prize, provide refreshments, contribute something useful, help with an activity or simply help spread the word.

Every participating business gives us another opportunity to introduce residents and visitors to something they might not have discovered before.

When someone travels to Cass City for an event, we'd love for them to discover another reason to come back.

One Morning. One Fun Idea. Hopefully the Beginning of More.

Not every event has to be enormous to matter.

We don't need thousands of people.

We don't need a huge festival.

Sometimes you need a few dozen people willing to put on witch hats, decorate their bicycles, leash up their dogs and do something fun together on a Saturday morning.

Maybe you meet someone new.

Maybe you discover a business you've never visited.

Maybe somebody drives into Cass City for the first time.

Maybe a local business gains a new customer.

Maybe we raise $200 or $300 to help start the next community activity.

Maybe someone goes home and says:

“We should do that again next year.”

That's how traditions begin.
